The show at Western Carolina University on October 28 was a huge success . The weather (and the airlines) cooperated and got me here in time for the show. Hoey Auditorium was a great setting for the show...

Over 350 students came to see Hand to Mouth and it was well received. We had a great Q & A session afterwards - which I believe is a very important thing. It gave a good sense of resolution after some of the tough issues H2M brings up.

Thanks Karen and everyone else at WCU who helped bring me here. Below are some quotes from letters Karen's nutrition students were kind enough to send me...

Below are some quotes from letters that Karen White's nutrition students were kind enough to send me...

"I do thank you for sharing your story. It really touched me..."

"I thought your performance was charismatic and thought provoking, you seemed to capture the attention of your audience and keep it... Thanks for the insight."

"I really enjoyed your performance the other night. I have suffered with bulimia for about 3 ½ years and am comforted by knowing that I'm not the only one with this horrible disorder... Your play was great - very educational I think to others who have no earthly idea what it is like to suffer..."

"Your exceptional performance was educational and increased awareness in many students. You were able to bring humor and emotion to this very serious subject. It is so wonderful that you have the ability to share you personal condition and be open with us."

"I think what you do takes a lot of courage and strength. I never knew bingeing and being obsessed with food was a potential sign of an eating disorder. I am aware of that now."

"Thank you so much for visiting WCU last week. Your presentation was very informative and interesting. The addition of humor to the play seemed to lighting the atmosphere on what would've otherwise been potentially awkward to address."

"The play was great. It brought about a great awareness and a seriousness about the subject matter. Included many very funny parts. I would highly recommend this play to all people."

"Most information on eating disorders is sugarcoated but you really made me see how gruesome and detailed the process of bingeing and purging is..."
